Mountain Biking at Derroura Bike Trail

With Mountain biking becoming increasingly popular in Ireland and with the development of a purpose-built mountain bike track just outside of Oughterard in County Galway, more and more people are trying their hand at Mountain biking and adventure sports. At Mountain Trail Bike Shop/Bike Hire Ireland we can offer you your chance to experience real off-road mountain biking. Our Merida bike hire fleet suits a wide range of budgets and experience levels.

Derroura Mountain Bike Trail is suitable for both the novice mountain biker as well as the more experienced rider. The trail offers great climbs, fast descents, many narrow gravel single tracks and several narrow twisting board walks.

The trail is 17km long with incredible views over looking both Lough Corrib and Connemara. The start and finish of the trail are at the same point at the car park. Free parking is available.

Mountain Trail Bike Shop / Bike Hire Ireland caters for all. We deal with individuals, groups , schools and clubs. Our bikes can be collected from our shop in the heart of Galway city centre or delivered and collected to Derroura Bike Trail. For groups, schools and clubs we include a cycling helmet, spare tube, mini pump and bottle cage free with all bikes. We include a free car bike rack for those collecting from our shop to transport bikes safely out and back to Derroura bike trail.
